I GOT A JOB AND ALSO I AM REALLY REALLY TIRED AND STILL HAVE TO WRITE MY FRENCH PAPER.

10:38 PM

Well, guess what?

I GOT A CHRIS FUAMATU-MA'AFALA-ing JOB!

I'm so excited. I start Saturday. I don't know why I'm so happy, though. I mean, I'm going to have a lot less time to do nothing now. And less time to do homework. But I feel like I'm starting to earn my own. Sure, it won't pay rent or anything, but it'll help with college. And I'll be able to buy people not-THAT-sucky Christmas presents. Right now, I've got $20 and that's got to pay for three birthdays (my brother, stepdad, and sister) and help me with Christmas. So that's cool.

PS. "Ma'afala" is synonymous with "motherfucker" in my house. Because my family loves the Steelers THAT much. I just like the guy's name.

PPS. Total number of trick-or-treaters that visited my house today... 0! Awesome, awesome. I ate like, 4 mini-candy bars, and I'm really hyper! Yet very, very tired...

I cannot wait for it to just be quiet here. SO I CAN FREAKING DO HOMEWORK.

But most of all, I CANNOT WAIT TO GET A JOB.

I'm ESPN! I'm athletic and fun to be around! I enjoy sports and I'm very competitive.

THAT'S SO GREAT.

my dad had to fill out these questions for my guidance counselor, and i read the paper, and really, he wrote about me being a "mature young woman" and stuff, and then he started talking about how we email each other and talk about baseball. I HOPE THAT GOES IN MY COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION!

October 28, 2002

I am in such a good mood today. I turned in my teacher reccomendation forms to my teachers, I've scheduled a guidance appointment, I've filled out all of my papers... now I just need to write a lot of essays.

And my grandmother talked to this lady at this little grocery store that is hiring, and they need people from 2-6, which I can do, so I THINK I'M GETTING A JOB!

Sometimes I love life so much it's SICK.

6:38 PM

Oh man, today is a crazycrazycrazy day in the world of baseball.

Lou Pinella is the new Tampa Bay Devil Rays manager! I am happy, because I like the Devil Rays. I heart Ben Grieve.

Then, Art Howe has left the A's and is the new manager of the Mets. I really do not understand why anyone would leave the A's for the Mets, but hey. I may not agree with you, but you do your own thang, Art.

Plus, the Devil Rays traded Randy Winn to the Mariners for a shortstop I've never heard of. Ok guys. Now Aubrey Huff can officially take over as Only Devil Ray That Doesn't Suck.

250-300 Word Essay Topic:

Evaluate a personal experience, achievement, or even that has significantly affected your life.

Any ideas? It's due December 2.

I don't think any number of words can express how much I love the book "Shoeless Joe". Sure, half the references go way over my head, but I look them up. And it's so much fun, and it's like, the story of my life. And JD Salinger is in it, so how can you not love it?

Juli's List of All-Time Favorite Books

1. The Outsiders
2. Catcher in the Rye
3. Shoeless Joe
4. All Harry Potter

Harry Potter's only 4 because I sort of feel bad having them on the list at all. Not that I should, because the Outsiders is hardly challenging reading, either.

ANGELS WIN

YES WE CAN!

Woop woop! Man, I am not all that excited though. I'm more excited about the Red Sox beating the Devil Rays 3-2 in the regular season than this. But I am still happy the Angels won. They were my pick to win the WS (well, after the A's. Dammit.). And Troy Glaus got the WS MVP! That's so great. If it were me, that would be the greatest moment of my entire life. But it isn't, and it never will be. I am happy though, because Glaus is my third favorite Angel (Behind K-Rod and Little David Eckstein, but I'm biased because he was on the Trenton Thunder and was kicked off the 40-man roster for Shea). Speaking of Shea, I saw the Shea Rotmans commercial!

THE END.

But now there's NO baseball until February? What am I going to do? SERIOUSLY.

11:59 PM

I know I've said this before, but

I HEART "MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO GEORGIA"!

I don't even know why, but I'm going to Atlanta this summer. Did I mention that? I need to get this on CD for my trip.

I think the Cor(e)y Poll (which has not worked for a while now) is done. The final results are as follows:

Corey Feldman wins with 7 votes. In second place comes "Some Other Guy Named Cor(e)y" with 4 votes. Corey Matthews received one vote, while Corey Haim and Cory Lidle were left in the dust with 0 points each.

Thank you everyone for voting.

Death to Smoochie was such a funny movie. I liked it. It's one of those movies that I like that critics don't. Like Knockaround Guys. But we can forget about that.

I want to see The Ring. Does anyone want to come with me? I do NOT want to see Jackass The Movie, though. Everyone wants to see that. But not me.

And that Angels just won! One game away from the ring, boys. Keep it up. (I have to root for the American League team. Unless it's the Yankees, in which case, I will pick the lesser of two evils.)

I miss the Red Sox so much. This morning I woke up and I was looking at my Red Sox plaque that I got for my birthday and then I had to get up and tell every person in the picture I missed them (even Jose Offerman and Dustin Hermanson. Shock!). Then blah, blah, blah, after reading about the Celtics in Sports Illustrated I turned to the front, and, oh look! An article on a book about the Red Sox being racist!

That ruined my life for about an hour. I don't want to root for a racist team! But apparently, ahem, "The Red Sox haven't been racist since they first hired Dan Duquette. That was about ten years ago." Oh good. So when I was rooting for the Red Sox when I was 5, I was pro-racist baseball. AWESOME. So now I am feeling sort of weird about this whole thing, but hopefully I get over it. I don't think I will ever get over the Red Sox, ever.

Future Scenario (ripped off from DirecTV football commercial)

Installation Guy: There you go, now you can watch all of your Tigers games.
Pedro Martinez (sitting on my shoulder, talking to just me): Juli, you married a Tigers fan, not the team!
Me (to Installation Guy): We get the Red Sox games, too, right?
Installation Guy: Yep.
Me: Phew. Thanks Pedro, you're number one!
Husband: Who's Pedro?
Installation Guy: I'm Mark. (Points to nametag) Mark.

FIN.

Almost as good as Bad A-Rod, I know, I know.

Barry Zito is my soulmate!

You got Ace Pitcher Barry Zito of the Oakland Athletics :). He's known to say "dude" a lot, and he can do lots of hair styles (including dying hair plz :D), hes a rocker, and he can also play music.

Did I not tell you guys that he was my soulmate before? Actually, maybe I only said he was Denise's soulmate. Well... dammit, Denise and I can't have the same soulmate!

It snowed today! Today, October 23, 2002 AD! Not "oh look, it's snowing!" but "I CAN'T SEE WHERE I'M DRIVING IT'S SNOWING SO HARD!"

So maybe that was an exaggeration. And maybe I wasn't the one driving. But anyway, most of it melted.

To do: Get ready to present 2 French magazine articles, do 2 pages of French stuff, attempt to finish Calculus (I'm doing well so far, even if I don't know why the speed is negative, take Psychology notes, fill out papers for teacher reccomendations, write Northeastern essay, write Northwestern essay, schedule guidance appointment, fill out paper for guidance, get dad to fill out guidance paper.

Some of the time a lot of the time I think about getting away from New England and going to college elsewhere. I eventually want to settle in California. But then I think of all the stuff here...

I'm going to be at all the cool shows. I'll go to as many Red Sox games as humanly possible, and even if not humanly possible, I WILL go to every Red Sox / A's game. This is non-debatable.

(Just had a thought: Woah, Mike Scisocia picks the AL All-Star Team next year!)

I'll be the best damn intern in Beantown. I will be everywhere that something is happening. People will know me, even if I don't know them. People will want to be like me.

And think, this will all be happening in less than a year!

I think that's it. In other words, I have been fucking bored and lazy for the past week. Bold indicates movies I was watching for the first time. If you were wondering, of all of the new movies I watched, my favorite was.... (dundundun)... Knockaround Guys! Sure, everyone hates that movie, and it was fairly predictable, but I loved it. Honorable mention goes to One of the Guys, the best 80s movie you've never seen! Fucking hilarious.

5:20 PM

Is anyone else getting bored of baseball player layouts? I think maybe I am. NOT that I don't love baseball anymore, guys. Do not get me wrong. But maybe it's time for something different.

But I don't have anything else to use in a layout. MEUUUUGH.

Now HERE'S some interesting questions:

When did I become so lame, and when did people start hating me? And why?

This blog mirrors my life. Periods of silence, sliced by random comments about stupid stuff.

Tonight's stupid thing is:

I really miss Jeff Weaver. Sure, I was never a Tigers fan, and no matter what I have said in the past... month (what was wrong with me?) I am NOT a Yankee fan. So why do I miss Jeff Weaver? I don't know. How do I miss Jeff Weaver? I don't know. He was never there in the first place. And the burning question: Why do I even LIKE Jeff Weaver? The world may never know.

It's time to play the "Guess What Juli Spent Her Day Doing" Game!

Choice One: Watching Saturday Night Live reruns and college football on TV
Choice Two: Making brownies and other assorted junk food, because her dad just went grocery shopping
Choice Three: Listening to Barry Zito interviews and cleaning her keyboard
Choice Four: Watching the same DVDs she's seen 100 times and doing origami

First person to correctly guess wins... I don't know what. My gratitude that somebody read this and cared enough to comment. I have no idea.

5:05 PM

Today at the Garden (pronounced "gah-din") I saw this guy that looked like Barry Zito AND Mike Mussina. But strangely enough, he was not as hot as either of them. Hmmm...

Thing Number 2309483094 I Have in Common With Barry Zito: We both have moldy tomatoes in our refrigerators.

That's not completely true. He threw his away. I'm just letting mine sit there.

Most Characteristically Juli thing: Eating pure honey from a spoon.

What I Just Did (Characteristically Juli Thing #2): Spill it all over myself.

and then i had to eat all the honey and now i'm all sticky and that did not taste good. i think i am going to give up pure honey for a while.

9:47 PM

only people of a certain disposition feel the need to buy things like tape and 3 different kinds of gum while on a shopping trip to the mall, i think.

11:09 PM

If you wanted to know what the saddest picture ever taken in baseball history is, not taken after the death of someone, it would be this one, of Mark Mulder, my second favorite left-hander on the Oakland Athletics

He pitched so well and he didn't deserve the loss it was the bullpen that lost it it was all The Evilest Man in Baseball Billy Koch Mark pitched so well and he is crying on the inside and LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO MY BABY!

11:05 PM

Note to Self: The day I bought 61*, the best made-for-HBO movie EVER, on DVD, the Yankees are eliminated from the playoffs. Remember this for next year.

Paper cranes are supposed to be good luck, right? Because I made two- a green/black one and a yellow/green one, and if they had better help the A's win today if they know what's good for them.

But hey, the A's cannot lose. The Fox is pitching today at home and I love him and he's a lefty and the Twins can't hit lefties and I LOVE YOU, MARK MULDER! But I am going to miss you, Doug Cavemanwich.

Haha, this is the best part of the Doug Mentiensdgkljscz profile thing:

Douglas Andrew Mientkiewicz (Mint-KAY-vich) . . . wife Jodi (Stoner) . . .

That's what you get for not marrying me. Sorry, Doug #2. (No one will ever be able to take over the Doug #1 position from Doug Mirabelli, Mafiaman Extraordinaire, sorry guys.)

Wow, now I feel cool! But sadly enough, that description does fit me.
