Bad news, women of Sacramento.River Cats heartthrob and A's backup outfield candidate Eric Byrnes is as far off the market as a single man can be in California. Byrnes, who last year was named one of the capital city's most eligible singles by Sacramento Magazine, is seriously dating Miss California USA, Tarah Peters of San Diego."How'd you know that?" Byrnes, 26, asked, relieved for a moment not to be talking about his recent slump that has him in danger of not making the team.Byrnes met Peters when the A's played in San Diego last June. She is a member of the Padres' "Pad Squad" that does on-field promotions between innings.Byrnes said he was a wreck earlier this month watching his girlfriend compete in the nationally televised Miss USA pageant in Gary, Ind."Man, I was more nervous for that than I've ever been for any baseball game," the blond, buffed Byrnes said. "But she did great. She finished in the top 12."
