ABOUT:

I've been a fan of Eric's since the I first saw him in Modesto in 1999. His exciting, dramatic play caught my eye there. He didn't last long at Modesto, he was promoted to AA Midland after 96 games and a .337 average. After three full years in the Minor Leagues (with an average over .300 each season) he was finally rewarded with a 10 game stint in the Major Leagues with the Oakland A's in 2000. He bounced back and forth between AAA Sacramento and the A's for the next couple of years, but he's now a fixture in the A's outfield.

Known for his flashy diving catches and blazing speed, Byrnes quicky became a fan favorite at each of his stops in his baseball career. But as good as he is in the field, nothing compares to how nice he is off the field. Eric is one of the nicest players I've ever met. He takes the time to connect with fans and treats them with respect. He seems to be truely thankful for his fans, which is always appreciated by the fans. I thank Eric for that!
